The worldwide largest IMD – “Immersive Media Screen” started its operation in the ZENDOME.500M. Where – of course in the Europa-Park in Rust, one of the most sought-after attractions in Germany and according to Tripadvisor Travellers’ Choice 2014 “Best Theme Park in Europe”.
“Immersive” means immersing oneself as deeply as possible in what is being presented, i.e. maximum emotional involvement. This can be achieved in various ways, for example with so-called data glasses, which completely isolate the user from his environment, or with the dome projections used here as a communal experience. Here, the IMS built into the dome is the screen. This means that visitors can look up while standing or – for maximum experience – sit down on one of the comfortable beanbags.
Alongside the ZEISS-Großplanetarium (Berlin), which is currently being renovated, and the planetarium in Mannheim, the Traumzeit Dome at Europa-Park in Rust is the largest digital fulldome facility in Germany.
