At the mobile film and environmental festival Moving Baltic Sea, which entered the ports of a total of six coastal towns between Rostock and St. Petersburg in July and August 2008, the ZENDOME.20 Home-Edition played a leading role.
The Europe-wide tour was organized by Moviemiento Berlin and presented international short films for four days each, discussed environmental issues and promoted the exchange of young filmmakers.
As a central information and contact point, the geodesic dome attracted interested guests already during the set-up. “The multifunctional ZENDOME served us as a cafe, workshop and exhibition space, as a living room and relaxed meeting point. It became a small home for the festival crew as well as for the visitors, which ideally protected us from too much rain and sun during the Open Air”, reported Misja Goossens from Moviemtiento.
Furthermore, the ZENDOME.20 Home-Edition Crew supported as an optimal projection surface for VJs during the parties with local artists and musicians. Until the festive closing event in St. Petersburg, Moving Baltic Sea inspired an international audience and offered an exciting program with numerous discussion events as well as films from the Baltic Sea countries, open-air screenings andcreative seminars.
Misja Gossens’ conclusion: “The ZENDOME not only presented the festival branding and was a great eye-catcher, but also the set-up with always new people was fun every time – a great space, developed with a lot of intelligence and love! I still sometimes miss the great feeling of turning the last screw tight at the top.”
